Who are we?

Anurak Studio is a Thai modern and traditional martial and performing arts studio that emphasizes many ranges of Thai arts. Anurak Studio was formed by Charmrath Aroonratana in October 2021, the studio is mainly aimed at inheriting and preserving Thai art and culture in Penang, Malaysia. Charmrath and his team is now working towards creating a ripple effect in the community to bring the Thai traditions and culture on a larger scale.

“Anurak” in Thai is a verb that brings meaning to conserve, take care of, preserve, and guard. It conveys a strong message of richness, and nuanced meaning that is close to its Pali roots: To be imbued with the quality of protecting, sheltering, and caring. And with that, Anurak Studio is exactly that. In hopes that this studio would be a beacon of light to the cultures of Thailand to Malaysian. Anurak Studio is focused on bringing the Thai culture and the richness of its teachings on a greater scale.
